Jesus Christ offers mercy to us through His atoning sacrifice. The Lord is merciful and gracious, Ex. 34:6 (Deut. 4:31). His mercy endureth for ever, 1 Chr. 16:34. Goodness and mercy shall follow me, Ps. 23:6. He that has mercy on the poor is happy, Prov. 14:21. I desired mercy and not sacrifice, Hosea 6:6. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy, Matt. 5:7 (3 Ne. 12:7). Woe unto hypocrites who pay tithes and omit the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith, Matt. 23:23. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful, Luke 6:36. Not by our works of righteousness, but according to his mercy he saved us, Titus 3:5. The tender mercies of the Lord are over all, 1 Ne. 1:20. Mercy hath no claim on the unrepentant, Mosiah 2:38–39. God is merciful unto all who believe on his name, Alma 32:22.
