Purpose

Getting all the education you can is a smart move. Why? Because you set a course for long-term success and happiness in a career. When you have a good job, you can focus better on other important things: your family, church service, and community involvement.

Goal Description

Get all the schooling you need to prepare for getting a job you enjoy and that allows you to contribute to your family, the Church, and your community.

Goal Ideas

  • Learn what kind of education or training is required for the career you are interested in. A career or guidance counselor, the internet, or someone working in the profession can all be good sources of information. Write down what you learn and refer to your notes when you make decisions about your education.

  • Create a timeline for your education, starting with what you can do now and what you need to do in the future to prepare for the job you want.

  • Get involved in a volunteer opportunity related to the career you’d like.

  • Take advantage of things outside of classroom time, like internships, lectures, or conferences, to gain experience and make contacts with people in your future profession.

  • Save money for the education you’ll need for your chosen career, like tuition, licenses, certifications, and other expenses. Research scholarships and grants you can apply for to help cover the costs.

  • Create your own goal.
