Elath or Eloth

A town of Edom, on the Gulf of Aqabah, one of the “stations” of the Israelites in the wilderness (Deut. 2:8); a naval station during the monarchy (1 Kgs. 9:26; 2 Kgs. 8:20; 14:22; 16:6).
