Frequently Asked Questions

For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences are five-day events that include activities, devotionals, and classes designed to help strengthen faith in Jesus Christ and provide opportunities for youth to grow spiritually, socially, physically, and intellectually. These events have been held extensively outside the United States and Canada for several years and are modeled after Brigham Young University’s Especially for Youth (EFY) conferences. In 2023, youth may attend beginning in the year they turn 14 and may be no older than 18 by the end of the session they plan to attend. Each stake will be invited every other year.

Stakes are invited to attend every other year. View Stake Assignments to see if your stake is assigned to attend in even or odd years.

Available sessions and dates are communicated at the end of the third quarter the year prior to the summer stakes are invited to attend. After that time, you can find the session(s) available to your stake by navigating to the Stake Assignments page and looking up and selecting your stake's name.

Note that some stake leaders opted to have their stake attend a single session, so while multiple may be available to neighboring stakes, only one will be available to those whose leaders opted for a single session. Youth in those stakes will have additional options after the initial registration period.

You may attend FSY beginning in the year you turn 14 and may be no older than 18 by the end of the session you plan to attend.

You will be asked to pay $75 USD ($100 CAD) upon registration. If this will cause you undue financial hardship, please speak with a member of your bishopric before you register and they may use ward funds to cover the cost.

In addition, the stake or ward will pay $75 USD ($100 CAD) from the local unit budget allowance (LUBA) for each individual. The bishop may also use LUBA to help individuals when necessary. If desired, wards may use the annual fundraising effort to help offset the cost (see General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [2020], 20.6.8, ChurchofJesusChrist.org).

FSY is a high priority of the general leadership of the Church, and they have directed that FSY be available to all eligible youth and will, therefore, cover the majority of the conference cost.

FSY conferences will typically be held at college or university campuses. You will stay overnight in the campus dorms. If you have concerns about staying overnight, you may request to check out from the session each night and return to the session in the morning through the "Nightly Check-Out" function on your Participant Dashboard after completing your registration.

There are two main groups in FSY: counselor groups and companies. Counselor groups consist of approximately 10 youth and 1 counselor of the same sex. Companies typically consist of 2 or 3 (male and female) counselor groups. Counselor groups and companies are formed by age groups.

• Group One includes those turning 14 to 15 years old in the calendar year.

• Group Two includes those turning 16 to 18 years old in the calendar year.

Roommate requests are authorized, but not guaranteed. They may be requested during or after the registration process only when the requested roommate is registered in the same session, same age group, and same housing type (male or female).

PLEASE NOTE:

The information here is accurate as of the time this window was opened or the last time it was refreshed.

Until February 15th there may be some sessions that show availability here, but do not show as having space in the registration system. This is because we reserve a certain amount of space for stakes that live far away from the sessions and have transportation provided to them. On February 15th any space not registered for by these stakes will become available to any youth within their country of residence. (Hawaii sessions will only ever be available to residents of Hawaii.)

Information regarding specific campus requirements will be on the Session Information page, available two weeks before your session begins. Note that if you do not follow the campus-specific dress and grooming guidelines (if applicable to the campus where you are attending FSY), you will be asked to change.

You and your parents should decide whether you should bring your personal cell phones to FSY sessions. If you bring a cell phone to FSY, it may be used as a resource during classes, devotionals, instruction, or as directed by FSY staff. You are encouraged to have the Gospel Library, Gospel Living, and FamilySearch Tree apps downloaded prior to attending FSY.

Social media, picture-taking, AirDropping, or other nonrelated apps should be saved for appropriate times, such as free time, during meals, or between activities and classes. You should always be respectful of others and yourself by what you view and when you use your phone.

You will check in Monday between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the location detailed on the Session Information page, available approximately two weeks before the session begins.

FSY's schedule is carefully crafted to benefit youth to the greatest extent possible; therefore, you should attend the whole session where possible. However, we recognize that unavoidable situations may arise which require you to check in late to the session.

If you must check in late, please follow the steps below:

• Navigate to your Participant Dashboard.
• Select the session you have registered for.
• Click Late Check-In.
• Enter your check-in date and time and the reason for checking in late.
• Click Save.

You will check out Saturday at 7:00 a.m. and will no longer be supervised by FSY staff at that time.

If you must check out early, please follow the steps below:

• Navigate to your Participant Dashboard.
• Select the session you have registered for.
• Click Early Check-Out.
• Enter your check-out date and time, the name of the adult picking you up, the relation of the adult to the youth, and the reason for leaving.
• Click Save.

The adult picking you up must call the site office phone number before your check-out time to arrange a pickup location. This number will be available on the Session Information page at least two weeks before the session starts.

FSY is contained within the campus where it is being held. You should leave campus only after following established policy and checkout procedures; otherwise, you will be sent home from the conference. Your safety is our highest priority.

FSY's schedule is carefully crafted to benefit youth to the greatest extent possible; therefore, you should attend the whole session where possible. However, we recognize that unavoidable situations may arise which require you to leave the session.

If you are leaving temporarily, please follow the steps below after registration:

• Navigate to your Participant Dashboard.
• Select the session you have registered for.
• Click Leave Temporarily.
• Enter your check-out date and time, your check-in date and time, the name of the adult picking you up, the relation of the adult to you, and the reason for leaving.
• Click Save.

If you are leaving permanently, please follow the steps below:

• Navigate to your Registration Dashboard.
• Select the session you have registered for.
• Click Early Check-Out.
• Enter your check-out date and time, the name of the adult picking you up, the relation of the adult to you, and the reason for leaving.
• Click Save.

The adult picking you up must call the site office phone number before your check out time to arrange a pickup location. This number will be available on the Session Information page at least two weeks before the session starts. The following documents need to be presented to the staff who is on duty at the site office:

Parent or legal guardian listed as the primary and secondary emergency contact must bring:

• Government-issued photo ID.

Relative or friend age 18 or older must bring:

• Government-issued photo ID.
• Written consent from a legal guardian.
• Photocopy or picture of parent or legal guardian’s government-issued photo ID (used to verify authenticity).

FSY will always call the parent or legal guardian listed to confirm the request. If the contact information provided is incorrect or the parent or legal guardian is not available by phone, you cannot check out.

You must check back in with the site office before returning to any FSY activities. Documentation does not need to be presented to check back in; however, signatures do need to be provided, so please ensure the adult accompanies you instead of just dropping you off.

You must be symptom free for 24 hours without the aid of medication before you can attend or return to an FSY session. Youth exhibiting any contagious symptoms while at FSY (vomiting, fever, diarrhea, pink eye, and so on) will need to go home immediately. Parents will be contacted and are responsible to arrange pickup for their youth. You or your parents may call 801-240-3009 ext. 7 (United States) or 888-898-8144 ext. 7 (Canada) or email FSYRegistration@ChurchofJesusChrist.org to inquire about transferring to another session, if desired. Transferring to another session is dependent on space being available.

We strongly recommend AGAINST mailing or dropping off non-essential items during the session. Delivering non-essential, non-emergency items uses the valuable time of our staff and can disrupt the FSY schedule.

If essential medications or items are forgotten, please have your parents contact the session site office and make arrangements with the staff. Individuals not registered for the FSY session you are attending may not drop items off directly to you. Contact information is found on the Session Information site, available approximately two weeks before the start of the session.

Each session has its own lost and found during the session. If you do not know where it is, you may call the site office number. This number is available on the Session Information page at least two weeks before the start of the session.

Every effort is made to return lost items to you during a session, but  you are encouraged to carefully check for all belongings, especially scriptures and electronics, before leaving as FSY is unable to return or store lost and found items left unclaimed at campus locations once youth leave.  Contacting the campus number listed under “General” on the Session Information page  may  be helpful in locating items left behind.

If a member is injured while participating in a Church-sponsored activity in the United States or Canada, the Church offers Church Activity Medical Assistance (CAMA), which provides secondary medical assistance. This is designed to supplement, not replace, a person’s own health insurance (see General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [2020], 20.6.9.3, ChurchofJesusChrist.org). Those who have health insurance use it first, before using CAMA, which gives accidental injury help up to $15,000. We encourage all families to have health insurance. Those without the ability to have insurance will still have CAMA help. For any health issues, FSY will contact parents immediately regarding medical care for accident or illness. The activity and medical staff are also charged with recording and reporting accidents to FSY.

FSY-contracted university campuses or locations are not licensed ambulance or transport agencies. Law requires individuals being transported to the emergency room by an entity to be transported by a licensed ambulance. As such, FSY is required to call an ambulance when an FSY participant needs to be transported to an emergency room.

Consistent with FSY policy and the requirements of many state laws, FSY personnel report to law enforcement or other applicable state agencies instances in which FSY personnel have reason to believe that a child has been subjected to abuse or neglect. FSY personnel may also report to parents, law enforcement, or other applicable state agencies in instances where FSY personnel have reason to believe that a participant has engaged in self-harm.

Some campuses/locations are large enough for FSY to hold multiple sessions of FSY the same week, just in different venues on the campus. These are indicated with a letter, A/B/C. Youth who are registered for an A session will not be in the same counselor groups or activities as those who are in the B or C sessions. This can change by campus, but it is not a guarantee that youth registered for the same week, yet different letter sessions, will see or interact with one other, except for free time.

We currently have limited options for youth who do not speak English and are working to expand the availability of these sessions and translation options for future years.

A Language Session is held in the language listed.

A Language Supported Session is a session held in English that will have translation for a second language for session-wide activities, classes held in the second language, young adult staff who speak English and the second language, and the handbook offered in English and the second language.

Pre-registration opens to on-cycle youth in the fall and will remain open until January. During pre-registration youth will be able to provide their personal information and select their preferred sessions from the options their stake is assigned to attend, shown on the FSY Assignments page. Youth may also choose to link together with friends, cousins, siblings, or others and select the same FSY session preferences. After the pre-registrations phase is over, session assignments will be given to each youth that completed their pre-registration. Youth will need to log in and submit payment to finalize their registration and secure their reserved spot.

Youth who do not complete pre-registration will still have an opportunity to register at a later date. See the Registration Timeline for a list of important dates for 2024.

Youth have the opportunity to link together with up to 6 people—friends, siblings, cousins, or others—to select the same session preferences during pre-registration.

Important Notes:

• Links are limited to six people, no exceptions.
• Everyone must use the same link code to ensure they are properly linked.
• Everyone linked will be able to register for the same session but may be in different counselor groups.
• A pre-registration link is not a group or roommate request.
• Youth wanting to link together must select session preferences that are available to all youth.
• Pre-registration links can be edited up until the end of pre-registration (January 4, 2024).

Youth in stakes scheduled for an FSY conference will be invited to begin pre-registering online during the fall. See Stake Assignments to see what year your stake is assigned to attend. Registration information will be sent to each youth after a member of the bishopric has approved them to attend.

Once pre-registration has opened and a member of the bishopric has approved the youth, they can begin the registration process online via the link on FSYYouth.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Registration closes at 6:00 p.m. local time of the session, the Sunday before the session begins. If you register within the two weeks prior to the session start date, you will not be able to request any accommodations, request a roommate, and you will not receive a participant ID card with your name printed during check-in. Group and housing changes will not be made on-site during check-in. As such, we strongly encourage you to register ahead of time.

You may request a single roommate up until two weeks before your session starts by entering your desired roommate’s registration confirmation number during or after the registration process.

Two youth of the same biological sex and who are registered in the same session may request to be linked as roommates. The first youth will register without requesting a roommate and provide his or her registration confirmation to the second youth, who will enter that into the roommate request field when they register. Every effort is made in honoring roommate requests; however, they are not guaranteed.

If you do not select a roommate, you will generally be randomly assigned one of the same biological sex. Occasionally participants will not be assigned a roommate due to housing layouts at select campuses.

Keep checking the registration page for openings. If you see an available space but that space is gone once you attempt to register, that space has most likely been taken by someone who registered just before you. Please be patient and continue to watch for additional openings. Occasionally, campuses may provide additional beds. Those spots are posted as they become available. You may contact the FSY office using the contact information on this page for additional details.

Registration for FSY programs must be completed online. The information you will need includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Your Church Account username and password.
• Personal information: name, birth date, address, phone number, email address, and a picture of yourself to upload.
• Roommate’s registration confirmation number (if requesting a roommate who is already registered).
• Parental release information: parent or guardian names and phone numbers, physician name and phone number, insurance provider and policy number.
• Medical information: medications, special needs, or existing conditions.
• Dietary needs and allergy information, such as celiac disease, allergies to nuts, and so on.
• Credit or debit card information (if the ward isn’t covering the participant fee).
  • FSY accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover (FSY cannot accept PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and so on).

Online registration closes the Sunday prior to the first day of the session at 6:00 p.m., local time of the session.

• Log in to your account and follow these steps:
  • Under your "Current Registrations,” select your FSY registration.
  • Click on Transfer. (Be sure to select Transfer rather than Withdraw.)
  • Follow the prompts on the screen to the very end to complete your transfer.
  • Please note that roommate information does not carry over when you transfer to another session, so you will need to re-enter your preferred roommate’s registration confirmation number. Your preferred roommate must be registered in the same session as you.

You should see a confirmation page indicating that your transfer has gone through with a new confirmation number. Make sure to use your new confirmation number when linking a roommate. Confirmation of your transfer will also be sent to the email address on file. If you do not receive a confirmation email or do not see a confirmation page, please call the  registration office  at 1-801-240-3009, extension 7.

PLEASE NOTE: If you select Withdraw instead of Transfer, you will be removed from the session. Once you withdraw, you may not be able to get your spot back. It is your responsibility to confirm that your registration is complete and accurate.

Log in to your account and follow these steps:

• Under your "Current Registrations,” select your FSY registration.
• Click on Withdraw. 
• Please note if you Withdraw your registration, you will be removed from the session. Once you withdraw, you may not be able to get your spot back.

If you withdraw your FSY registration before Sunday at 6:00 p.m. MDT the Sunday before the session begins, you will also be issued a refund. Please note that your refund may take up to six weeks to process.

You can register to attend with a youth from another ward if the youth is in a stake invited to attend the same year and the same session(s) that are available to you. To request to be roommates, you must both register for the same session and be the same sex. To request a roommate, follow the instructions listed under "How can I request a roommate?" above. If you do not register as roommates, it is unlikely you will be assigned to the same group at the session. However, you will still see each other at classes, dances, meals, and so on.

You should have received a confirmation email. If you did not, contact the FSY office using the contact information listed on this page.

Within two weeks of the first day of your session, you will receive specific information about your session including information about the check-in and -out locations, lodging, and session contacts. If you have any questions between now and then, call the FSY hotline or speak with your ward FSY representative.

Your health and safety are the first priority of FSY! You are not allowed to do anything to harm yourself or others, including climbing trees, doing flips and gymnastics, or jumping out of windows and over railings. As a general rule, your head needs to stay above your feet.

You cannot leave FSY without following the proper checkout procedures. Please see "What do I do if I need to leave during the week?" for more information.

For your safety, you must remain in your room or hallway (depending on the campus) after curfew. If you break curfew, you will be sent home at your own expense.

You and your parents are ultimately liable and will be responsible for additional cleaning or restoration charges and damage to rooms, property, or equipment.

You are responsible for returning your housing key at checkout. There is no grace period for returning keys, as universities charge FSY the cost of rekeying immediately after each session. The charge for missing keys can vary from $10 to $150 per key, depending on the location. You and your parents are ultimately responsible for lost items, additional cleaning or restoration charges, and damage to rooms, property, or equipment.

During registration, please note any medical needs or concerns in the “Medical and Health Information” section. You may also email FSYAccommodations@ChurchofJesusChrist.org with specific questions prior to the session. If accommodations are required, please note them during registration or contact the FSY office at least 30 days (but ideally 60 days) prior to the start of the session. Health coordinators are available during the check-in process to address medical concerns or needs.

Dairy-free, nut-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are available at most campuses. Other dietary restrictions may also be accommodated depending on the campus. When youth register, they should note their dietary restrictions, and FSY staff will contact them if there are concerns.

These accommodations must be noted at least 30 days (but ideally 60 days) prior to attending FSY. This will allow time to determine the extent of our ability to reasonably provide the requested accommodations.

Parents who have requested an accommodation for their youth can also visit with health coordinators during check-in to review needs and concerns.

Note that youth will not be randomly assigned to room with youth who openly identify as different from their biological sex at birth. Please see the housing accommodations section in the registration system for more information.

Counselors have a major influence on the youth and play a pivotal role in the success of FSY conferences. As such, you should prayerfully consider who you should encourage to apply as counselors. You should encourage young single adults primarily based on their ability to strengthen youth rather than solely as an opportunity for the young single adult to be strengthened. Young single adults will be responsible for the spiritual and physical safety of the youth. Young single adults who support or promote any teachings, practices, or doctrine contrary to those of the Church or who are currently going through a Church membership council should not be encouraged to apply to be an FSY counselor.

Counselors are expected to serve a minimum of four weeks and will be given a weekly allowance, food, and housing.

YSA can apply to be a counselor and learn more about the opportunity at FSYEmployment.byu.edu. After their application has gone through the process and FSY is ready to accept the applicant, FSY will reach out to bishops for an ecclesiastic clearance.

Ward and stake leaders are not responsible to plan the conference, to secure FSY locations, or to provide speakers. If occasional assistance is needed, area leaders may call upon local leaders. Ward and stake leaders are responsible for helping youth register and for arranging transportation to the FSY conference (except where FSY is providing transportation to and from the session). Stakes are also responsible for planning stake FSY activities. These activities extend the FSY experience beyond the five-day conference by helping youth prepare and grow spiritually, create greater unity within the stake, and find joy in gospel living as they strengthen their testimony of Jesus Christ.

Stake presidents are responsible for ensuring stake Young Women and Young Men presidents, or YSA stake Relief Society presidents, know that they are responsible for FSY in the stake. The stake Young Women and Young Men presidents will act as the liaisons between the coordinating council FSY representative and the ward FSY representatives in your stake. They should be prepared to answer questions about FSY from ward FSY representatives, stake and ward leaders, YSA, parents, and youth. They will communicate information regarding registration, session information, transportation, and other logistics.

Bishops are responsible for calling a ward FSY representative. They will act as the liaison between the stake Young Women and Young Men presidents, or YSA stake Relief Society presidents, and YSAs, parents, and youth in their ward.

Adults will fill the following roles at FSY:

• Young single adults should apply to fill logistical and leadership roles.
• Primarily seminary and institute employees will attend FSY as session advisors and teachers. Area leaders will reach out to local leaders if their assistance becomes necessary.
• Area Presidencies, Area Seventies, and coordinating council FSY representatives are encouraged to observe sessions. More information regarding this opportunity will be delivered in the spring of 2023.
• Adult leaders within stakes where bus transportation is being provided will be responsible for providing chaperones on the busses to and from the FSY conference, but will not stay during the week.

Ward FSY representative should be called in each ward, regardless of participation in FSY conferences in the current year. Ward FSY representatives and stake Young Women and Young Men presidents, or stake Relief Society presidents in YSA stakes, will not attend FSY conferences; however, they will provide crucial information to stake and ward leaders, YSA, parents, and youth. They will communicate information regarding registration, session information, transportation, and other logistics but will not attend the actual session. All local leaders are encouraged to prepare for and extend the FSY experience for youth in their area by conducting stake FSY activities before and after the session(s).

In the year that youth attend FSY (see Stake Assignments to see what year your stake is assigned to attend), their stakes should not hold other large events, such as a youth conference or trek. Stake or ward Aaronic Priesthood quorum and Young Women camps and other regular activities should continue as normal. Camps should be scheduled at times that do not conflict with scheduled FSY conferences.

No, youth do not need to attend the same FSY session as their stake or ward. Youth can register for any session shown on the Stake Assignments page under their stake.

Some stakes only have one session listed because transportation is being provided to that stake or because there is only one available session within 2.5 hours of the stake center. Others only have one session listed because their stake leaders requested to have their youth register for the same session (though due to logistical complexity, they couldn't choose the session for which their youth would register and not every stake that requested it was approved for the opportunity). Most stakes have access to multiple sessions. Note that all invited youth will be able to register for any available bed in their country of residence after the initial registration window.

Due to volume and logistical complexity, the FSY office cannot take requests from stakes or wards for specific assignment preferences. In July 2022, stakes attending in 2023 had the opportunity to submit a request to attend together, then FSY randomly selected some of those stakes (not all could be accommodated) and assigned them to a session. Requests such as these can no longer be honored for 2023.

In April, Stake Young Women presidents should indicate the latest end date and the earliest start date for the schools their youth attend on the Registration Issues page the year before their stake is invited to attend so FSY can schedule around school calendars. Note that this page resets on September 1 for the following year. Anything entered prior to that date will be noted as relating to the current year's summer.

Individuals whose stake center is located less than 2.5 hours away from the conference will be required to provide their own ground transportation to the conference location. If a large number of youth from a stake will attend the same conference, stake leaders may arrange for commercial transportation, following the guidelines in the General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2020), 20.7.7, ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

FSY will generally provide transportation for those whose stake center is more than 2.5 hours from their assigned FSY conference location. FSY staff will work with the stake Young Women president to arrange travel, as applicable. If FSY is providing ground transportation to your stake, the stake Young Women president is responsible for selecting and coordinating bus chaperones. Stake and ward leaders should encourage and help youth register for FSY. Youth will register individually online with their own account. See the FSY leaders page for more detailed specific stake and ward leader responsibilities.

Youth from invited stakes register on the FSY registration website. They must be approved by a member of their bishopric before they can register. Bishoprics have the responsibility to approve youth, which can be done on the youth approval tool. Bishoprics do not need to interview youth prior to approval unless they are not confident that they meet the participant expectations shown at the top of the youth approval tool.

Wards are encouraged to hold an activity after the bishoprics approve their youth to attend but before January 4, during which each youth (with their parents) completes their pre-registration. Bishopric members should consider the financial circumstances of the youth in their ward and determine if there is a need to provide assistance so all who are eligible are able to attend an FSY conference.

There are limited situations in which a youth outside of your unit may attend FSY with your unit. An out-of-unit youth may attend if he or she:

• Is not a Church member and has agreed to abide by the standards in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices.
• Lives part-time in your unit.
• Has a sibling who lives in your unit and is attending FSY.
• Has a parent or guardian who lives in your unit.

If the youth is a member of the Church, please get agreement from the youth's bishop prior to approving them on the FSY approval tool.

If the youth is not a member of the Church, meet with the youth to ensure he or she meets the participation requirements and is willing to follow the standards as outlined in For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices and the FSY Standards of Conduct. The youth will need to create a Church account at account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org. They do not need to be a member to create an account.

Follow these steps to approve an out-of-unit youth:

• Log in to the Approval Tool and scroll to the bottom of the page.
• Select + Add Youth.
• Enter the youth's Church account username.
• Select the reason for approval.
• Approve the youth.

If the youth is a member of the Church, an email will be sent to the youth's bishop and the approving bishop to confirm the approval.

Your ward will be charged the $75 USD or $100 CAD ward fee for any out-of-unit youth who are members of the Church. Your ward will not be charged for youth who are not members. All out-of-unit youth will be charged the $75 USD or $100 CAD participant fee upon registration (unless the ward has agreed to cover the participant fee).

Bishoprics do not need to interview youth prior to approval unless the youth is not a member of the Church or the bishopric member is not confident that they meet the participant expectations shown at the top of the approval tool.

Counselors: Young single adults that are at least 19 by June 1 of the year they wish to participate may serve as counselors at four or more conferences. To understand the role of FSY counselors, see the FSY counselor information page.

Assistant Coordinators, Health Coordinators, and Coordinators: Young single adults that are at least 21 by June 1 of the year they wish to participate may serve in one of these leadership positions at four or more conferences. Counselors lead, mentor, and teach a group of approximately 10 youth every week. They work with a co-counselor of the opposite sex in addition to their group of approximately 10 youth.

Assistant coordinators lead, mentor, teach, and supervise a group of approximately six counselors every week. They support counselors in working with their youth and fulfill logistical responsibilities. They work with a co-assistant coordinator.

Health coordinators assist program participants with health needs. They have the opportunity to interact with the youth, helping them maintain their physical and spiritual well-being. Health coordinators work closely with coordinators, assistant coordinators, and counselors in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Coordinators lead, mentor, teach, and supervise assistant coordinators, health coordinators, and counselors. They work with on-campus staff and FSY office staff to manage the logistics of each session.

FSY counselors, assistant coordinators, health coordinators, and coordinators are provided a weekly allowance, food, housing, and travel between sessions.

Once accepted as a counselor, assistant coordinator, health coordinator, or coordinator, FSY will assign you to four or more of the approximately 250 sessions available across the United States and Canada. Due to the logistical complexity of making these assignments, requests for specific locations cannot be made.

Counselors, assistant coordinators, health coordinators, and coordinators will serve 4 to 11 weeks, depending on availability and session needs.
