Account Error Resolutions
To make registration as smooth as possible, youth are encouraged to ensure their accounts are working before registration begins in January. Most issues can be resolved by the youth and/or their parents, however, some youth may need assistance. Common errors and their resolutions are listed below.
MRN Error
To register for FSY, the youth’s Membership Record Number (MRN) must be linked to their Church account. To do this, please have the youth follow the instructions below:
- Retrieve your MRN in one of the following places:
- Have your parent or guardian log into directory.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and: select their name(s) > select your name > look under Record Number
- Have your parent or guardian log into the Member Tools app and select: their profile > your name > Membership Information > Record Number (note that this is only an option if you are still part of your parent's or guardian's household)
- Look on your temple recommend
- Ask your ward clerk
- Enter your MRN and birthdate
- Select Save
If following these steps doesn’t resolve the youth’s issue, please call the Global Service Desk at 855-LDS-HELP with the youth present to seek assistance.
Child of Record Error
Church account usernames for Children of Record (youth who were blessed but not baptized) must be linked to your unit before they can register. To do this, please follow the instructions below:
- Navigate to the Youth Unit Report
- Find the youth’s name in the chart
- Select Link Child of Record Account in the far right column
- Enter the youth’s Church account username
- Select Save
Note that this link only lasts for one year, so you will need to do this again if this youth desires to attend FSY in a future year.

Forgotten Username/Password
If a youth has forgotten their username or password, can’t recover the information through Account Recovery, and they are still part of their parent's or guardian's household, please have their parent or guardian follow the instructions below.
- In the row with your youth’s name, select Change Password or Change Username, as appropriate
- Input the new username or password
- Select Save
If a youth has forgotten their username or password and their parent or guardian isn’t available to help them or they are no longer part of the parent's or guardian's household, please have the youth follow the instructions below.
- Navigate to account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org/recovery
- Select Church Membership Information
- Enter your MRN, which can be found in one of the following places:
- Look on your temple recommend
- Ask your ward clerk
- Follow the prompts to recover your username and password
If following these steps doesn’t resolve the youth’s issue, please call the Global Service Desk at 855-LDS-HELP with the youth present to seek assistance.
No Church Account
If a youth has no Church account, please have them follow the instructions below.
- Navigate to account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org/register
- Select your location
- Enter desired username and password
- Enter your MRN, which can be found in one of the following places:
- Have your parent or guardian log into directory.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and: select their name(s) > select your name > look under Record Number
- Have your parent or guardian log into the Member Tools app and select: their profile > your name > Membership Information > Record Number (note that this is only an option if you are still part of your parent's or guardian's household)
- Look on your temple recommend
- Ask your ward clerk
- Enter your birthdate
- Select Next
- Enter your contact information, agree to the terms and conditions, and select Next
- Confirm recovery contact information
