Try these refreshing drinks from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico! (Read about the Dominican Republic on pages 12–15.) Be sure to get an adult’s help when cooking.

Awesome Orange

• 1 12-oz (340-g) can evaporated milk, chilled

• 3 tablespoons sugar

• 1 cup orange juice, chilled

• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Combine the milk and sugar and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Then stir in the orange juice and vanilla.

Pineapple Pizzazz

• 3 cups pineapple chunks

• 2/3 cup coconut milk

• 3/4 cup ice

Blend the ingredients in a blender until smooth.
