David Fullmer

(1803–79)

David Fullmer was born in Chillisquaque, Pennsylvania, in 1803. He married Rhoda Ann Marvin in 1831. In September 1836, Fullmer was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ohio. He moved to Caldwell County, Missouri, in 1837, and to Daviess County, Missouri, in 1838. The following year, he moved to Commerce, Illinois, which was later renamed Nauvoo. There he was ordained a high priest and became a member of the Nauvoo high council. In 1844 he served a mission to Michigan. Fullmer was also a member of the Council of Fifty. He led a company of Latter-day Saints out of Nauvoo in 1846, and in 1847 he moved to Winter Quarters in unorganized United States territory (later in Omaha, Nebraska). The following year, he moved to Salt Lake City in what would become Utah Territory, where he died in 1879.
