“Paul,” Friend, June 2011, 49
Paul persecuted Christians. Then Jesus Christ appeared to him and asked why he was trying to hurt members of the Church. Paul repented and became a disciple of Christ. Later, he became one of Jesus’s Apostles. He was beaten and put in prison, but the Lord blessed him during his trials. He wrote letters to encourage others to follow the Lord. Some of these letters, called epistles, are in the New Testament. Like Paul, you can repent of things you have done wrong, and you can teach others about Jesus Christ.
