John the Baptist was a prophet. He taught people about Jesus Christ. One day John was baptizing people in the Jordan River. Then Jesus came. He asked John to baptize Him.

Jesus said Heavenly Father commanded everyone to be baptized. He wanted to obey Heavenly Father. He wanted to set an example for us.

John baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. When Jesus came out of the water, the people heard Heavenly Father’s voice. He said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

We can follow Jesus Christ by being baptized. Heavenly Father is happy when we follow His Son.
