Participant Devotional

Participant Devotional is the perfect way to start your day. One or two group members can volunteer to lead a counselor group devotional each morning to set the tone for the day. During Meet your Counselor, willing youth can volunteer to teach devotionals on Day Two through Day Five. If you volunteer to lead the participant devotional, you’ll be asked to do the following:

  • Select a hymn to sing together as a group
  • Invite a group member to offer a prayer
  • Share a brief spiritual thought such as, a favorite scripture, a personal experience related to a scripture, or testify of truths contained in a scripture

This time will also be used by your counselor for any daily announcements and a review of the daily schedule.

“The blessings of feasting upon the words of Christ are powerful and life changing. There are three in particular I would like to invite you to apply in your life. First, the words of Christ can help us, [in the words of President Nelson] ‘increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation’ and safely guide us through our life. Second, when we struggle with our own identity and lack of self-esteem, the ‘pleasing word of God’ in the scriptures will help us know who we really are and give us strength beyond our own. Third, we can lift the lives of others through the words of Christ.”
