Gospel Study

Each morning you will have scheduled time for personal gospel study. Your counselor will take a few minutes to teach you important study skills before giving you time to dive into your scriptures for a personal experience. Afterwards, you’ll have a chance to share insights from your study with your company. You will learn to love the scriptures, recognize how they will bless your life, and build your habit of daily study.

Regular, effective gospel study brings you closer to Jesus Christ and gives you power to resist temptation, avoid deception, and stay on the strait and narrow path. By reading the scriptures, you invite the Spirit to be with you. As you study the scriptures with the Spirit, you can receive revelation, gain a testimony, receive comfort, and learn doctrine that changes your actions and behaviors.

“Successful gospel study requires desire and action. ‘For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in these times as in times of old’ (1 Nephi 10:19). Like Enos, as you hunger to know the words of eternal life and as you allow these words to ‘[sink] deep into [your] heart’ (Enos 1:3), the Holy Ghost will open your mind and heart to greater light and understanding.”
