I play volleyball, run track, and read a lot. If I could spend a day doing anything, I would probably go to the beach.

I was born in Chicago, Illinois, but came to Nauvoo when I was in foster care. I don’t remember much about my life before being in foster care, but I remember not feeling safe. When I went into foster care, I felt safe. I like having the gospel. Some of my friends have been put into some scary situations because they don’t follow our standards. I know that following the commandments keeps me safe.

It was a cool experience finding my family. My mom came to the preschool I went to because she was helping substitute. She played with me, and she told one of the teachers that she wanted to take me home because I was such a cute kid. The teacher said, “She is up for adoption, so maybe!” My mom looked into it and adopted me and my two brothers. It’s cool because I know what it’s like to not have a family, and that makes having a family even more special.

In my free time I really enjoy walking and computer design. I’m the only member of the Church in my school. When people ask me about my beliefs, it makes me feel good to share the joy I feel and talk about the things we have in common. I know God gives us answers to our prayers even when they aren’t the answers we wanted or expected. I feel the Holy Ghost when I listen to the living prophets. I know the gospel is real, and it helps me have more faith.

I love taking pictures, especially of unforgettable memories. I also love music. I play piano, guitar, and ukulele and am learning other instruments. Music blesses and comforts my soul. I can feel Heavenly Father’s love when I hear Church songs, especially EFY songs. I know we are blessed when we keep the commandments. I know reading the scriptures daily and pressing forward while holding firmly to the iron rod will build a strong relationship between us and God.
