The Names of Those Who Returned
Nehemiah 7 is a record of the people who came to Jerusalem with Zerubbabel (see Ezra 2). Just as in Ezra, Nehemiah 7 notes that those who were not able to show by their genealogy that they were of the proper lineage were not permitted to have the priesthood.
