Our Hearts Have Been Touched

What a wonderful time we have had here in Nepal. The people are the happiest we have ever met. Not once in 2 years, have we ever heard a cross word from even one person towards us. All greet us with a “Namaste” and folded hands even after the surprise of seeing a white-faced man and woman. The greatest asset Nepal has is her people.

We have felt so blessed to be able to participate in the Helping Babies Breathe program and to help start the Helping Mothers Survive program here in Nepal. We know that because of LDS Charities’ generous donations and the efforts of American doctors and nurses and the Nepali doctors and nurses that they have trained, that many babies’ and mother’s lives have been saved.

We have traveled all over Nepal and are amazed at what LDS Charities has been able to do to bless the lives of people through water projects, wheelchair distributions, vocational training for disabled individuals, equipment for eye hospitals, furniture for schools and many hygiene and school kit distributions

Our involvement in the Kathmandu branch, has been the highlight of our mission. Even though we may not proselyte, our daily and weekly involvement with the members and non-members who visit the branch has forever touched our hearts. We will never be the same.

We testify that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, that President Nelson is the Prophet of the Lord and that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ personally know and are aware of the needs of all people in all nations of the earth, even in Nepal. We testify that the Lord’s missionary program is inspired and that there is a great need for Senior Couples to serve wherever the Lord needs them.
