“Acts 16–21,” Ensign, July 2019
After you’ve studied the scripture passages for this week and reviewed the questions and activities in the manual, consider sharing any of the following articles and activities with your family. These additional resources selected by the Church magazines staff can assist you as you strive to teach the gospel in your home.
One of the great lessons taught in Acts 16–21 is that the Holy Ghost can lead us to those who are ready to receive the gospel. As you study the articles below, think about the people in your life. Is there anyone you know who is ready?
“The Family: A Proclamation to the World” supports Paul’s teaching to the Athenians that we are the offspring of God. It states that each human being “is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny.” How can knowing you are a daughter or son of God influence the way you see yourself and others?
“Value beyond Measure.” Sister Joy D. Jones, Primary General President, explains the difference between spiritual worth and worthiness and teaches that our worth is never determined by our worthiness.
“We Are Children of God.” President Russell M. Nelson, then a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, teaches that as children of God, we have infinite potential.
“What’s in the Box?” In this Friend article, a girl learns that she is one of Heavenly Father’s priceless creations. Find other child-friendly messages, stories, coloring pages, and activities about this topic here.
“Decoding Your Divine DNA” (an activity from the new Ensign series “Family Study Fun”). With your family, explore traits inherited from earthly parents and those inherited from Heavenly Parents.
“It’s Good to Be Me!” Use this activity to help each family member draw a picture. Our Heavenly Parents made each person unique, and They love every one of us!
