Acts 10

The Gospel Is for All People

Peter came to learn that the blessings of the gospel are meant for people everywhere. The Church today is composed of a variety of people from many different backgrounds. How are Church members blessed by such diversity?

Articles

  • “The Blessings of Diversity,” by Bryant Jensen. This Ensign article explains that being unified in Christ doesn’t mean we all have to be the same. ”Our differences enhance our ability to work together in harmony,” says the author.

  • “Different but the Same.” In this short Friend article, President Henry B. Eyring, Second Counselor in the First Presidency, teaches us that we can be kind and love each other, even when we have differences.

Activities

  • “Mighty Mini Movie Party” (an activity from the new Ensign series “Family Study Fun”). Watch fascinating videos about Latter-day Saints in places like Ghana, Brazil, and South Africa.

  • One in a Million. There are a million Primary children all around the world! Meet some of them through this series of short online videos.

Revelation—Line upon Line

Peter’s diligence allowed him to gain a greater understanding of the vision described in Acts 10. As we patiently seek guidance from the Lord and heed the promptings of the Spirit, we too can gain a deeper understanding of the things the Lord would have us know.

Articles

  • “Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives.” Speaking in general conference, President Russell M. Nelson testifies of the Restoration of the gospel and counsels members to do the spiritual work necessary to qualify for the guidance of the Holy Ghost.

  • “Finding Floppy.” This graphic-novel-style story from the Friend illustrates one of the earliest experiences many children have with personal revelation: praying for help to find a lost item. Find other child-friendly messages, stories, and activities about prayer here.

Activity

  • “Article of Faith 9.” Use this Friend article to review the ninth article of faith with your family. Consider doing one of the listed challenges, or share with your family a time when the Lord revealed an important truth to you.

Acts 11:26

I’m a Christian

In Acts 11:26 we read about Church members being called Christians. Names can carry great meaning. In our day, the Lord has revealed that the name of His Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (see Doctrine and Covenants 115:4). What does this name say about the Church and its members?

  • “The Correct Name of the Church.” In this general conference address, President Russell M. Nelson promises that as we work to restore the correct name of the Church, the Lord will pour blessings out upon us—collectively and individually.

  • “Taking upon Ourselves the Name of Jesus Christ.” In this general conference address, Elder Robert C. Gay of the Presidency of the Seventy discusses the insights he gained from asking himself, “Am I taking upon myself the Savior’s name as He would have me do so?”

  • “It’s His Church.” In this short message from the Friend, Elder Taniela B. Wakolo of the Seventy talks about his conversion experience and why the name of the Church is important.
