Evidence of God’s love is all around you. If you’re struggling to see it, don’t lose hope. Sometimes life is hard, but God hasn’t abandoned you. When you reach out, God reaches back. Missionaries can teach you how to reach out to your Heavenly Father through prayer and how to recognize His loving guidance in your life. See how trusting God brings love, support, and peace
“I knelt in prayer and basically just poured my heart out and told God that I really needed His help. This overwhelming feeling of peace completely surrounded me, and all the feelings of unrest, pain, negativity—they were completely gone.”
Erick
“The missionaries finally said to me, ‘If you want to know if this is true[,] … don’t take our word for it. Go to the source of all truth.’ And that’s what I did. When I asked God if what they were telling me was true, it brought a feeling of love, joy, and peace.”
Paris
“No matter how fearful I might be of the future, … I’ll say a little prayer in my mind or something, and the day just gets a little easier or I’ll feel a little more supported. It’s just a feeling that I get, but I know that [God’s] there and He’s helping me.”
Cardin
“Even when I fall short, He still blesses me. And that gives me courage to try again next time. I feel His love when I feel the Holy Ghost.”

What to expect from your visit
We’re excited to meet you and help you grow closer to God. Here’s what your visit might be like:
- We’ll get to know each other.
- We’ll pray together.
- We’ll learn about God and share His words in the scriptures with you.
- We’ll invite you and your family to worship with us at church.
God is your loving Father in Heaven. He sent you here to learn and grow and wants nothing more than for you to return to live with Him in joy and peace forever. To make this possible, God sent Jesus Christ to be your Savior and Redeemer.
Who is God?
God is the Father of our spirits. We lived with Him before we were born and chose to follow His plan of happiness for His children. That plan includes coming to earth in order to gain a physical body, experience true joy, and face challenges that help us learn and grow.
As a loving parent, God hasn’t left you to make your way back to Him alone. If you are willing to trust in Him, you can find guidance through prayer, studying the scriptures, worshipping at church, and listening to the words of prophets. If you’re not sure where to start, missionaries can help.
God also sent us a Savior, Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
We all make mistakes that, without a Savior, would make us unable to live in God’s holy, perfect presence. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus paid the price for all of our sins and overcame death. Because of His sacrifice, you can repent and be forgiven and have the opportunity to live with God and your loved ones forever.
Are God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit the same being?
We believe that God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct beings who have different roles but are perfectly united in purpose. Together, they make up the Godhead. This view differs from some Christian denominations’ belief in the Holy Trinity.
A beautiful illustration of the distinct roles but united purpose of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit can be found in the Bible’s account of Jesus Christ’s baptism. Matthew 3:16–17 reads:
“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
What does knowing God mean for me?
You can experience more joy as you focus your life on God. Understanding God’s plan of happiness can add purpose and meaning to your life. You can have hope that death is not the end of our journey and that you can someday live with God and your loved ones again. You can find strength and comfort from God in difficult times as you pray. Trust Him.
Missionaries can help you experience these blessings as they teach you more about your Heavenly Father and His plan for you.
