Stake FSY Activity - Discussion

Throughout the stake FSY activity, create both formal and informal discussion opportunities for youth where they can share learning and experiences with their peers. Encourage youth to share what they have learned or how their individual testimonies have been strengthened during the stake FSY activity with their families, friends, and ward members after they return home.

Possible Subjects for Speaker’s Messages

  • Recognizing the Spirit
  • Receiving answers to questions
  • Setting goals (ideal for a "Before You Go" stake FSY activity)
  • Getting the most out of FSY and what to expect (ideal for a "Before You Go" stake FSY activity)
  • Maintaining goals that have been set (ideal for a "Taking It Home" stake FSY activity)
  • Other doctrinal topics

Work with your local leaders to determine which topics are most beneficial to the participating youth.

Materials

We recommend using resources that are familiar to the youth which support gospel learning, including:

  • Scriptures.
  • General conference messages.
  • For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices.
  • Come, Follow Me curriculum.
  • Children and Youth program materials.
  • Preach My Gospel: A Guide to Missionary Service.
  • The FSY conference handbook (if held after the FSY session, encourage youth to bring their handbooks and refer to them throughout the activity).

You may want to print packets of the selected activities or encourage counselors to review them online. You can also create a custom handbook with pages that coincide with activities and discussions from the provided links, if desired.
