Eternity

By Jaana Olsen

Dressed in white,

my family stands

beside me.

We have belonged

to each other

for a lifetime,

and now

stand before the gates

to eternity.

We reflect on the past,

our lives, loves, and sorrows,

so trivial now, so important then.

Our arms are linked, our hearts

joined together forever.
