Dear Parents,

Two ways we show God our gratitude for the gospel are by living it and sharing it. The articles in this month’s issue focus on making the gospel of Jesus Christ a bigger part of our lives, whether through strengthening faith in Him, making important changes, or spreading His truths throughout the world. Joy awaits those who learn and follow the Savior’s teachings and share His messages in word and deed.

Gospel Discussions

Sharing the Gospel through Testimony

Invite each family member to share a short testimony on a favorite gospel principle. Share quotes about missionary work from Elder Quentin L. Cook’s article on page 4. Thinking about the gospel principles you just shared, ask: Are there people with whom we could share these principles?

Feel Closer to Jesus Christ

Ask your children when they feel closest to Jesus Christ. Make a list with their answers. Explain Elder Patricio M. Giuffra’s five faith-building activities (see pages 42–43). As a family, consider doing one of these activities that you agree could make a difference in your home. Set a plan together to focus on that activity this month.

Change Can Lead to Spiritual Growth

Change, both expected and unexpected, is part of our experience in mortality. Read the article by Elder Ciro Schmeil on page 30 about different kinds of changes in our lives. How can these changes help us become more like the Savior?

Come, Follow Me Family Fun

God Loves All His Children

Acts 10

“God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him” (Acts 10:34–35).

General Authorities come from different lands. About half come from the United States. Others come from Central and South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, Mexico, and Canada.

  • Can you name an Apostle who was born in Europe?

  • Can you name an Apostle from South America?

  • Can you name an Apostle whose parents came from Sweden and Finland?

  • Can you name an Apostle whose family originally came from China?

We may come from different places, but God loves us all.

Discussion: In what ways might we be the same or different from other people? Does God love us based on what we look like or where we come from? Review the story of Peter and Cornelius found in Acts 10. What did they learn about judging others? What characteristics are important to the Lord?
