The first missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints arrived in South Africa in 1852. In the years since, members have overcome racial and cultural barriers to build unity and friendship. Today, the Church in South Africa has:

  • 69,400 members (approximately)

  • 17 stakes, 195 wards and branches, 4 missions

  • 2 temples (Johannesburg and Durban) and 1 announced (Cape Town)
