“What Does It Take to Make a February?” Friend, Feb. 1982, 24–25

What Does It Take to Make a February?

One sleepy groundhog

In a striped nightcap

Just waking up

From a five-month nap.

(Can you imagine that?)

Add a birthday cake,

For a president or two,

One wore a tricornered hat,

The other stood six-feet-two.

(Can you remember who?)

Last of all, please include

A construction paper valentine,

Delivered by your smiling hands

From your own house to mine.

(I think you’re divine!)

And that’s what it takes

To make a February.
