“Sandbox,” Friend, Aug.–Sept. 1981, inside back cover

Sandbox

My sandbox holds a fort

And I’m captain in command,

For I am a sturdy officer

Defending prairie land.

But yesterday, as engineer,

I tunneled through with zest

A lofty peak so trains could reach

New cities in the West.

Tomorrow on the moon I’ll build

A place for me to go.

Then I’ll bring my spaceship in

By special radio.
