After you’ve studied the scripture passages for this week and reviewed the questions and activities in the manual, consider sharing any of the following articles and activities with your family. These additional resources selected by the Church magazines staff can assist you as you strive to teach the gospel in your home.

Galatians 1–5

Christ’s Law Brings Freedom

Fulfilling the law of Christ, including bearing one another’s burdens (see Galatians 6:2), brings us true freedom.


  • The Gospel: An Eternal Life Hack.” Learn from this Ensign article how obeying the commandments can free us from self-inflicted wounds.

  • Choose You This Day.” In this general conference address, Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles teaches that when we come unto the Savior, He can free us from the consequences of our sins.

  • Toys in the Tub.” In this Friend article, Eli learns that his decisions have consequences. Find other child-friendly stories about obedience here.


  • Jesus Loves Me.” Share this fun action rhyme from the Friend with your children to teach them about the Savior’s love.

  • Gethsemane.” Your family could sing along with this video and talk about what Jesus did for us. This video collection also includes “Choose the Right,” “Come, Follow Me,” “The Miracle,” and “The Holy Ghost.”

Galatians 3:6–25

Blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant

In ancient times, the Lord granted Abraham and his posterity blessings of the gospel, priesthood, and eternal life (see Abraham 2:6–11). As disciples of Jesus Christ, we too are heirs to those promised blessings.


  • The Gathering of Scattered Israel.” In this conference address, President Russell M. Nelson, then a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, discusses the Abrahamic covenant and explains that Zion is wherever righteous Saints are gathered.

  • Cracking the Code.” In this Friend article, two brothers crack a secret code during home evening and learn about covenants. Find other child-friendly stories about covenants here.


  • Nations Blessing Bonanza.” Use this activity from the new Ensign series “Family Study Fun” to talk about how all nations are blessed through the Abrahamic covenant.

  • The Baptism Covenant.” This matching game helps children learn about the promises involved in the baptismal covenant.

Galatians 5:13–26; 6:7–10

When we seek to be led by the Spirit, we can enjoy such blessings as “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, [and] faith” (Galatians 5:22).


  • Gifts of the Spirit.” In this Ensign article, Elder Robert D. Hales (1932–2017) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles teaches that spiritual gifts “are given as a blessing and benefit to those who love God and keep His commandments.”

  • The Parable of the Anthill and the Cell Phone.” In this Friend article, Elder Joseph W. Sitati of the Seventy shares an analogy to teach the importance of being in the right place to feel the Spirit.

  • Paul’s Letters.” This illustrated story from the Friend talks about how scriptures like the book of Galatians came from letters the Apostle Paul wrote.
