Come Follow Me - Support July 29-August 4

After you’ve studied the scripture passages for this week and reviewed the questions and activities in the manual, consider sharing any of the following articles and activities with your family. These additional resources selected by the Church magazines staff can assist you as you strive to teach the gospel in your home.

Acts 22:1–21; 26:1–29

Share Your Testimony Boldly

Despite the risks, Paul fearlessly shared his conversion story and testimony with all who would listen. With the blessings of modern technology, we can share the messages and teachings of the gospel nearly anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.

  • Missionary Work: Sharing What Is in Your Heart.” In this general conference address, Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles counsels us to share the gospel “in natural and normal ways.”

  • Testimony: Sharing in Word and Deed.” In this New Era article, Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles discusses what a testimony is and how we can properly share it with others.

  • Speaking Up.” In this story from this month’s Friend, a boy asks his schoolteacher to stop taking the Lord’s name in vain.

  • Masterpiece Testimony Theater.” Use this activity from the new Ensign series “Family Study Fun” to practice bearing testimony in everyday conversations.

  • Sharing Your Beliefs.” With your family, watch this video about using technology to share the gospel with those you love.

Acts 23:10–11; 27:13–26, 40–44

Strive to Serve Him

None of us are exempt from the trials and hardships in life. Yet, like Paul, we need not feel alone; as we do our best to serve the Lord and His children, He will stand by and strengthen us.

  • Strength During Struggles.” In this Ensign article, Elder L. Lionel Kendrick, an emeritus member of the Seventy, teaches that through our trials, “our souls are stretched and our spirits strengthened.”

  • Do We Love Him?” In this New Era article, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles teaches how we can show our love for the Lord through devoted discipleship and service.

  • Mountains to Climb.” With your family, watch this touching video about enduring trials with faith.

  • Be of Good Cheer.” Watch this Bible video depicting Acts 23:11–12 and discuss how Paul must have felt knowing that the Lord stood by him in his trials.
