Ministry of Living Prophets and Apostles Reaches across the Earth
-
14 October 2010
Just as the ministry of the ancient apostles expanded from Palestine to other lands following Jesus Christ’s ascension, the ministry of apostles and prophets today extends from Church headquarters in the United States throughout the earth. When the Lord restored the office of apostle, he charged the modern apostles to be “special witnesses of the name of Christ in all the world” and to “build up the church and regulate all the affairs of the same in all nations” (Doctrine and Covenant 107:23, 33). The members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are all ordained apostles. Their ministry reaches throughout the world in response to the charge given by the Lord.
