The Savior’s Atonement changed his life.

Now Smith is helping others overcome pornography addictions.

A boy named Smith (that’s his first name) was only nine years old when he accidentally stumbled across pornography online. He was struggling with self-esteem and didn’t think he mattered enough for his parents or God to help him. He ended up getting addicted to pornography and feeling worse and worse about himself.

But this story has a happy ending! Smith’s parents eventually became aware of his problems and helped him turned to the Savior. Smith says, “It was a turning point in my life. I met with my bishop, and he and my dad gave me a blessing. It was the first time in six years I had felt the Spirit. It felt tangible.”

Smith overcame his addiction. He now travels the country, speaking to people about overcoming the dangers of pornography. He has a firm testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

“None of this happened because I have extra special talents or unusual abilities,” he says. “Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I’ve been able to repent, overcome challenges, and find peace and healing.”

He has one especially important piece of advice: don’t give up!

“If you think you’re too far gone, my answer to you is that you’re wrong.”
