· Teach children that if they see something that does not feel right it is not their fault.

Tech Talks (How to Talk to Your Child about Technology)

Use principles and questions that your child can understand.

• “Our devices can help us learn, play, and talk with others. How do you want to use your device today?”

• “It’s okay to ask questions about what we see on our screens. If something doesn’t feel right, let’s talk about it.”

• “Something on your device might make you feel funny or scared. When that happens, stop and tell me about it. We can talk about it.”

Check Understanding

• “What are some fun and good things we can do with our devices?”

• “What should you do if something you see online makes you feel uneasy or confused?”
