Jesus Chooses Twelve Disciples

Power to teach and baptize

When Jesus Christ came to the city Bountiful, He chose twelve people and gave them power to teach and baptize. He also gave them power to give the gift of the Holy Ghost. He called them His disciples. The disciples did the things that Jesus taught them to do.

Jesus taught His disciples how to baptize. He told them the words they should say. He taught them to put the person under the water and help them come up again. Jesus said to always baptize the way He taught them to. He also taught them about the Holy Ghost.

Jesus wanted His disciples to get along with each other and not argue. He said that when they argued, they were not following His teachings.

Jesus taught the people to believe in Him, repent, and be baptized so that they could live with Heavenly Father again.

Jesus told His disciples that if they believe in Him, they believe in Heavenly Father too. The Holy Ghost would help them know that Jesus and Heavenly Father are real.

When Jesus finished teaching His disciples, He told them to go and teach all the people. He said not to worry about what they would eat, drink, or wear. He told them that if they served Heavenly Father, Heavenly Father would take care of them.
