How Can I Overcome the World?

John wrote that Church members who overcome the world will receive great blessings (see Revelation 2–3). While some of these blessings will come after our mortal experience, President Russell M. Nelson gave us examples of the many other blessings we can receive now as we choose to follow the Savior daily. Some of those blessings are summarized below.

Blessings Available Now

• Greater resistance to sin

• Increased faith in and love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ

• True peace in any circumstance¹

Questions to Ask Yourself

These blessings often require us to sacrifice. As you seek personal revelation for how you can overcome the world, consider asking yourself these questions:

• What blessings do I need from the Savior?

• What’s preventing me from receiving them?

• What small changes can I make in my life to receive them?

Remember, as President Nelson has taught, “the Lord loves effort.”² The Savior knows your efforts (see Revelation 2:2) and will support you however He can as you work to grow closer to Him.
