What Are Some Hopeful Signs in the Book of Revelation?

John’s visions make it clear that the days before the Lord’s Second Coming will be filled with wickedness and catastrophes. But if we focus only on the destruction in the book of Revelation, we miss out on the hope God has promised us in the last days. Be on the lookout for some of these hopeful highlights.

Messages of Hope

• God will protect the house of Israel by sealing them from destruction. The 144,000 from “all the tribes of the children of Israel” (see Revelation 7:1–8) will help “bring as many as will come to the church of the Firstborn” (Doctrine and Covenants 77:11).

  Those who have covenanted with God and “washed their robes … in the blood of the Lamb” will overcome “great tribulation” in the last days (see Revelation 7:9–14; see also Doctrine and Covenants 138:11–15).

• God will hear the prayers of the Saints (see Revelation 8:4).

• Despite the persecution Saints will face, God will “give reward unto [His] servants” (see Revelation 11:17–18).

• There will still be righteous people who “keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12).
