The first chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan, completed in 1966, was built in the capital city of Taipei by local members. Today, the Church in Taiwan has:

  • 62,100 members (approximately)

  • 16 stakes, 98 wards and branches, 2 missions

  • 1 temple in Taipei, 1 announced in Kaohsiung

Visiting the Temple

The Ruan family walks to the grounds of the temple in Taipei. Sister Ruan says, “Going to the temple reminds me of the priorities in life and gives me spiritual strength and a feeling of peace.” In the October 2021 general conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced that Taiwan’s second temple would be built in Kaohsiung.
