The first chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan, completed in 1966, was built in the capital city of Taipei by local members. Today, the Church in Taiwan has:

• 62,100 members (approximately)

• 16 stakes, 98 wards and branches, 2 missions

• 1 temple in Taipei, 1 announced in Kaohsiung

Sister Ruan says, “Going to the temple reminds me of the priorities in life and gives me spiritual strength and a feeling of peace.” In the October 2021 general conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced that Taiwan’s second temple would be built in Kaohsiung.
