When Pontius Pilate examined Jesus Christ, he found “no fault” in Him (Luke 23:4). Pilate was “willing to release Jesus,” but the multitude was “instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified” (Luke 23:20, 23). Wanting “to content the people,” Pilate listened to the multitude (see Mark 15:15).

“Not of the World”

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we continually face choices between doing what is right and doing what is popular. Jesus Christ told His disciples, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” (John 15:19).

In what situations might you face peer pressure?

What could you do or say in those situations to choose the right? If you have children, you may find it helpful to role-play how they would respond to peer pressure. Remind them that choosing the right might mean not doing what their friends are doing, but choosing the right brings us closer to Heavenly Father.
