This port on the Gulf of Guinea is always packed with fishing boats. It is also home to a stake of Zion. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been in Ghana since 1978. Today, the Church in this country has:

  • 89,150 members (approximately)

  • 25 stakes, 4 missions, 328 congregations, 53 family history centers

  • 1 temple in Accra, 1 announced for Kumasi

Helping Each Other

In Ghana’s capital city, Accra, Justina Efua Allotey and her daughter Lucinda hang laundry to dry. As participants in a Church-sponsored literacy program, they also help each other learn to read and write.
