Out Walking

“Out Walking,” Friend, Sept. 2000, 27

    Out Walking

    I’m taking a walk

To the end of the street.

    Nobody knows

    What surprises I’ll meet.

    I might see a lion

    Escaped from the zoo!

    I might see a cowboy

    Or a pirate or two!

    But best of all,

    I might even see

    My very best friend

    Out looking for me!

Mount this page on heavy paper and carefully cut out the walking boy, the poem, and the large circle. Put a metal fastener through the black spot on the boy’s foot, then put the fastener through the black spot on the circle and secure. As you read the poem, move the boy around the circle.
