“Trees,” Friend, May 1988, 47

    God made lots of kinds of trees,

    Trees for birds and trees for bees

    And trees for kids in dungarees—

    Kids like me.

    He made the tree in our front yard;

    It’s great to climb, it isn’t hard—

    For kids like me.

    He made a tall one in the wood.

    For building a fort, it’s very good—

    For kids like me.

    And the one out back is just the thing

    If you want to play on its tire swing—

    With a kid like me.
