Spring’s Alarm Clock

“Spring’s Alarm Clock,” Friend, Apr. 1982, inside back cover

    Spring’s Alarm Clock

The pussy willows in our yard

    Are the first to stir

From their beds in early spring

All dressed in coats of fur.

They act as an alarm clock

    For the sleeping bulbs below,

Calling to them, “Spring is here!

It’s time for you to grow!”
