Halloween Place Cards

You will need: paste, black construction paper, scissors, yarn, sequins, small artificial berries, pins, toothpicks, raisins, and small styrofoam balls.

Cut a circle 4 inches in diameter out of black construction paper. Cut a slit in the circle from the edge to the center. Overlap the cut edges and paste them together. This forms a cone shape for the dress.

Put one end of the toothpick into the styrofoam ball and the other through the point on the dress. Be sure the toothpick is pushed in far enough so the ball is on top of the dress. To prevent the toothpick from falling out of the dress, stick a raisin on the toothpick under the cone and push raisin up as far as possible.

Using straight pins, stick two sequins to the styrofoam ball for eyes. Paste a berry onto the ball as a nose.

Cut several strands of yarn 5 inches long and paste the center of each to the top of the ball, letting the ends hang down.

Cut a 2 1/2-inch circle for the brim of the hat. Cut a 2-inch circle and slit and paste the same as for the dress.

Paste small cone to brim to finish hat.

Paste hat onto head and letter a guest’s name on the dress (see illustration). Make a place card for each guest.
