“On the Web,” Ensign, Jan. 2012, 78
As an interactive supplement to the updated Handbook 2: Administering the Church, the Church’s Priesthood Department has announced the Leadership Training Library, an online collection of short training videos that highlight the principles taught in the manual. The new resource is available now at leadershiplibrary.lds.org.
The library is initially available in English. Portions of the library will also be provided in 10 additional languages in early 2012.
A new DVD entitled Strength of Youth Media 2012: Arise and Shine Forth was shipped to units in November 2011 to help youth leaders introduce the 2012 Mutual theme. The DVD may be used to supplement quorum meetings, classes, youth conferences, and other youth activities throughout the year. It is available in 11 languages. Additional support materials are available in this month’s New Era and Liahona magazines and on LDS.org.
The Church has created a new music app, LDS Music 1.0 for iOS. The app, released in October 2011, contains the content of the LDS hymnbook and the Children’s Songbook, viewable as sheet music or simple text. The application plays instrumental music for each song. Future plans include adding playlists, audio controls, and additional music. The app is available for free download in Apple’s App Store.
