Welcome more peace into your life.

Quiet moments can invite the Spirit.

We live in a crazy, fast-paced world! When we’re constantly on the go, it can be hard to remember to slow down and appreciate individual moments.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf said, “Let us simplify our lives a little. Let us make the changes necessary to refocus our lives on the sublime beauty of the simple, humble path of Christian discipleship—the path that leads always toward a life of meaning, gladness, and peace.”1

Prayer and pondering are great ways to welcome peace. A lot of people also find that practicing meditation helps them feel more relaxation and peace in daily life. Here’s something simple to try:

  1. Find a quiet place.
  2. Sit, stand, or lie in a comfortable position.
  3. Gently close your eyes.
  4. Breathe deeply and slowly—in through your nose and out through your mouth.
  5. Notice the sounds around you. What can you hear? Don’t focus on any one sound, but let your awareness drift from one to another.
  6. Next, focus on being aware of your body. Start with your toes and move to each body part until you get to the top of your head.
  7. Continue to breathe slowly and deeply.
  8. Whenever you are ready, open your eyes.
