Oh, my friend,

I have told you everything

(Except what’s most important).

I’ve shared with you my lunch, my clothes, my dreams

(But not the truth).

You know where I stand on abortion, the President,

And the kid who sits next to me in math class.

(But do you know where I stand with God?)

We’ve gone to school, movies, and the mall together

(But never to church).

We’re friends for life

(But not for eternity).

I thought our friendship too valuable

To bring in the Book of Mormon.

But now I realize

you are far too valuable
