Happiness

by Dianne Dibb Forbis

Happiness

doesn’t just happen.

Smiles shower

into a life

only when someone

has seeded

darkening cloudiness

with plans

that lead to glowing.

Joy jumps into view

only when someone

is beating

the bushes

to keep

glad action going.

Happiness

requires reach

up and out

from waiting pose.
