Counsel Together and Adapt Solutions

As a committee, share what you learned from listening to young single adults in your area. Counsel together about how to meet the needs you discovered. Remember that your solutions should do the following:

  • Help bind young single adults to the Savior through covenants and ordinances.

  • Focus on all young single adults. You can create a safe place for open discussion, including for those who feel they do not fit in or who have sincere faith questions, lack social support, or struggle with their faith.

  • Increase feelings of belonging and strengthen relationships.

  • Meet the needs of young single adults (such as the need to gather and interact, receive temporal help, gain an education, develop social skills or connection, obtain employment, develop emotional well-being, or find purpose and direction).

As you counsel together:

  • Make sure all ideas are heard and considered.

  • Seek revelation.

  • Adapt solutions to meet the unique needs of young single adults in your area and to improve upon existing or prior solutions.

  • Reach out to local leaders along the way and seek their advice.

The “Existing Church Resources and Solutions” section offers a variety of options to help you consider what others have already done and what might work for you.
