Teach Doctrine, Principles, and Guidelines

In a coordinating council meeting with the assigned stake presidents, the Area Seventy reviews direction from the Area Presidency. He also teaches applicable doctrine and “Principles and Guidelines for Providing Meetinghouses.” The foundational principles of self-reliance, providing for others, and wise judgment should be discussed in the context of strengthening members and how to more effectively use meetinghouses.

In preparation for this meeting, the DTA and his staff provide information to help priesthood leaders understand current conditions and how units evolve based on historical growth.

The Area Seventy may choose to hold additional meetings as necessary to create the plan. These meetings are good opportunities to counsel together about the actions needed to create and implement an effective plan.

The Area Seventy also teaches doctrine, principles, and guidelines to stake presidents who are not involved in master planning. Master planning principles are still applied when considering meetinghouse needs in these stakes.
