Prophecies of Jesus Christ’s Birth

“Behold, the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind, yea, even all mankind, and bringeth them back into the presence of the Lord” (Helaman 14:17).

By about 6 BC, many of the people living in Zarahemla in ancient America had lost their faith in Jesus Christ. So God sent Samuel the prophet to testify of the Savior’s coming birth, death, and Resurrection and invite the people to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Samuel foretold the signs of Jesus’s birth and death so that the people “might know of … his coming” and “believe on his name” (Helaman 14:12).

Today we live in a time when modern-day prophets foretell the Second Coming of the resurrected Lord. President Russell M. Nelson has said:

My dear brothers and sisters, so many wonderful things are ahead. In coming days, we will see the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power that the world has ever seen. Between now and the time He returns “with power and great glory” [Joseph Smith—Matthew 1:36], He will bestow countless privileges, blessings, and miracles upon the faithful.
