The king tricked Zeniff and his people. He let them live in the land of Nephi so he could take some of their food and animals later. Zeniff’s people lived there in peace for years. They grew a lot of food and had many animals. Then the Lamanites attacked and tried to take their food and animals.

Zeniff taught his people to trust the Lord. When the Lamanites came to fight them, Zeniff and his people prayed to the Lord. The Lord gave them strength and helped protect them. They were able to chase the Lamanites away. The Lord blessed Zeniff and his people for their faith.
