Who was involved in these revelations from God?

  • Joseph Smith

  • Oliver Cowdery. He learned about Joseph Smith and the gold plates and offered to be a scribe while Joseph translated the Book of Mormon.

Where did they happen?

  • These revelations took place in Harmony, Pennsylvania.

When did they happen?

  • These revelations were given in 1829..

How can these revelations apply to us today?

Before Oliver became Joseph’s scribe, he prayed to know if Joseph’s work was true. When Oliver prayed, he felt peace and reassurance.

Oliver still had questions while helping Joseph translate. He asked God again if this was true.

The Lord reminded Oliver that he had already received an answer to his prayer:

“Did I not speak peace to your mind concerning the matter? What greater witness can you have than from God?” (Doctrine and Covenants 6:23).

Like Oliver, we should hold on to past spiritual experiences and let them strengthen us through hard times.
