Before and After
Instructions: Remove pages 8 and 9 from the magazine, and mount them on lightweight cardboard. Cut out the eight “after” panels at the bottom of the page on the solid lines, and fold the tabs back on the broken lines. Cut along the broken lines in the eight “before” pictures. Read each situation. Then, using the tabs on the “after” panels, hang the corresponding “after” panel in the “before” picture to show how happy each person is after being kind and forgiving.
When Eric kept playing with Jay’s toy cars without permission, Jay became angry. Then Jay forgave Eric and shared his cars with him.
Derrik ate the candy bar Kenny had been saving. At first Kenny was upset, but he forgave Derrik and gave him half his apple.
Leslie said something mean about Becky. Becky’s feelings were hurt, but she forgave Leslie and asked her to play on the swings.
Alex told Shelly something untrue about Janie, and Shelly laughed. Janie was mad at first; then she forgave Alex and Shelly and invited them to study with her.
Mitch broke the water bottle in Ethan’s hamster’s cage. Ethan was angry, but he forgave Mitch and showed him how to attach the new bottle.
Mark colored all over Brian’s report. Although Brian was mad for a while, he realized Mark didn’t mean to hurt him, and he forgave him. Then Brian drew a picture for Mark to color.
Megan yelled at Lauren for always winning the math game. Lauren yelled back but then apologized, forgave Megan, and helped her so she could win, too.
Lynn felt awful when she wasn’t invited to Carol’s birthday party. After praying for help, Lynn forgave Carol and invited her to go to the park.
