Gratitude from Madagascar

I was very touched to read “Primary—How Great Is Our Joy” in the June 1998 issue of L’Etoile (French). The publication of such an article in L’Etoile is very comforting. It allows members of the Church from the entire world to get to know their brothers and sisters in Madagascar.

I gave the magazine to several friends who are showing interest in the gospel. Some of them are beginning to listen to the missionary discussions.

I want you to know how much I appreciate this magazine. Each time I read it, something stirs within me. In my heart, I feel that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God.

Request for Help in Strengthening Families

As a missionary in the Guatemala Guatemala City South Mission, I am currently serving as a branch president. Recently a couple with some marital problems came to me seeking guidance. I turned to the scriptures and also to the Liahona (Spanish) to find information to help them. Unfortunately, I did not find the help I needed in the stack of Liahonas I looked through. I understand the difficulty of addressing so many topics in a limited number of pages, but I am writing to suggest that more articles on the topic of marriage and family relationships be included. These articles will bless the lives of those who are trying to live the Lord’s way and not the world’s way.

Prayer—Seeking God’s Will

In the article “The Journey to Healing” in the April 1998 Liahona (English), I read a section entitled “Prayer—‘Nothing to Lose.’” Those words penetrated my heart. I realized that my problems had become the central theme of my prayers. I have since changed my focus and have made seeking God’s will the center of my prayers. I have felt peace and comfort as I have acknowledged my need for God’s wisdom in tackling my difficulties.
