One thing is for certain—God loves you. He thinks about you and looks for ways to help you every day! God’s direction sometimes comes through commandments. And what are the two greatest commandments? Love God and love your neighbor (see Matthew 22:37–39).
Love God
For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices promises that “your relationship with God will deepen as you express your love by obeying His commandments and keeping your covenants with Him” ([2022], 12). You can:
-
Have conversations with God through prayer.
-
Learn about Him by reading scriptures.
-
Ponder what His purpose is for you and seek a patriarchal blessing.
Doing things like these will help you learn how to love God and know of His endless love for you.
If you struggle to feel God’s love, take comfort knowing that nothing “shall be able to separate [you] from the love of God” (Romans 8:38–39). Nothing will stop God from loving you. Believe it! You can always ask God to help you know of His love.
Love Your Neighbor
God loves everyone! We can love others by:
-
Praying for them.
-
Lovingly listening to those who struggle with mental health and other issues.
-
Being friendly to people who look nervous or alone.
The For the Strength of Youth guide promises that “your relationship with others will deepen as you express your love through Christlike service. You will find joy in making the world a more loving place” (12).
Loving God and your neighbor will help you to know of God’s endless love for you and access His endless love for others!
